This established London interior architecture practice who is known for their contemporary and timeless residential interiors is looking for FF&E designer who has passion for procurement..

This practice has built a decades long reputation of crafting timeless residential and commercial interiors that embody a keen sense of aesthetics. The is largely due to its dedicated FF&E team that develop the design for materials, finishes, furniture, etc. The studio is looking to add to a middleweight FF&E designer to this team, who has a strong procurement background.

This role would suite someone who enjoys the styling and layering interiors as well as coordination. The chosen candidate will possess exceptional skills in FF&E sourcing, specifying, and coordination, especially within residential interior design firms. Experience with larger-scale projects is a valuable asset. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to see projects through to delivery and will be responsible for the final styling and handover.

A large part of this role will require  overseeing FF&E research, logistics, and specification. The designer be a primary point of contact during the FF&E stage of projects, ensuring the day-to-day FF&E operations of the practice run smoothly and driving the operational and administrative aspects of FF&E.

Technical documentation skills are not required but it would be a bonus if the candidate is able to open drawings for taking measurements and putting together furniture layouts for spatial awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working alongside the head of FF&E to develop concepts that respond to design brief
  • Creating mood and materials boards
  • Designing furniture layouts
  • Conducting product research and specifying items
  • Compiling, scheduling, and costing all FF&E specifications
  • Preparing spreadsheets to outline all costs and obtaining FF&E approval
  • Collaborating with the Head of FF&E to secure budget approvals
  • Supervising and assisting with purchase orders and specification sheets
  • Negotiating, coordinating, and communicating with suppliers to ensure timely and budget-compliant deliveries
  • Managing negotiations with suppliers throughout the FF&E procurement process
  • Coordinating the delivery and installation of all FF&E items
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and manufacturers
  • Managing and maintaining the FF&E library/sample area
  • Providing support for any unforeseen FF&E issues as they arise
  • Styling for handover and performing photo editing as needed
Skills and Experience
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field
  • Currently maintain a valid Right to Work (RTW) status in the UK
  • Showcase a portfolio illustrating expertise in FF&E within high-end residential or commercial interiors
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of procurement and logistics procedures
  • Demonstrate a proven history of effectively managing substantial budgets
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS, Excel. Knowledge of Esti, Vectorworks/AutoCAD is beneficial but not essential
  • Display exceptional organisational abilities and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Show confidence in both independent work and collaborative teamwork
