An established interior design studio with a reputation delivering super-prime residential projects globally is seeking a Head of Interior Architecture to join their team of 30. This role is a pivotal role for the studio, heading up a department and working alongside the Managing Director and Head of Design to continue to drive the success of projects.
The successful candidate will be ready to step away from the day to day designing and looking to step into a more managerial position where the weight is on team management, project management, financial acumen. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of interior architecture design and construction methods to successfully oversee and coordinate interior architect projects from concept through to completion.
- Lead the Interior Architecture team, ensuring efficient project scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining high-quality work output and team efficiency
- Monitor team performance, address issues, and offer constructive feedback
- Ensure timely completion of projects, managing studio workload effectively to meet client expectations and project deadlines
- Update and maintain project documentation within the department
- Allocate resources and manage project budgets proficiently
- Uphold design intent consistency from concept to completion, overseeing design quality at all project stages
- Collaborate with design leads and team members on design concepts and decisions
- Review technical packs before submission to ensure adherence to quality and company standards
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager to facilitate communication regarding team profitability, billing, and forecasts
- Proactively support the company's growth initiatives within the senior management team
- Oversee and monitor client communications and relationships related to interior architecture, ensuring client satisfaction and effective client management
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Possess a degree in Interior Architecture/Design or Architecture
- Demonstrate extensive project experience in high-end residential projects
- Experience in client-facing roles, including meetings and correspondence throughout the design and building works processes
- Strong leadership experience managing teams of Seniors, Mid-Weights, and Junior Interior Architects
- Practical knowledge of executing design intent, with a deep understanding of construction methods
- On-site and project management experience, including full project delivery from concept to completion
- Awareness of the commercial aspects of projects to assist senior management
- Proficient in AutoCAD, with a preference for Vectorworks
