This London design studio with international influence is looking for a senior furniture design to lead a team in creating and delivery tailored pieces for some of the most prestigious projects.
This design studio who are widely celebrated for their exquisite attention to detail and bespoke interiors are looking to hire a senior furniture design. The senior furniture designer will work alongside the department head, managing a small team of designers in successfully delivery furniture and joinery pieces on both high-end residential and hospitality projects.
The successful candidate will have an established portfolio that showcases their experience in high-end/luxury furniture or product design. The candidate will have a strong creative mind, an acute awareness for detail and vast knowledge of materials and finishes. They will have the ability to seamlessly develop a piece of furniture from concept to completion.
This is an opportunity to gain experience working in an interior design studio, collaborating across disciplines and on range luxury projects.
- Alongside the head of department, manage furniture projects and act as a consultant to commercial and residential interior design teams
- Respond to the design brief though hand sketches, technical drawings, models and imagery
- Lead research for materials and finishes that respond to the design intent
- Building relationships and liaise with suppliers, workshops, fabrics and negotiations
- Manage the production and manufacturing process and resolving any issues as they occur
- Mentor and support junior furniture designers with their workflow and ensuring they achieve deliverables set
- Coordinating with heads of departments and clients to ensure design ideas are communicated effectively and relevant programme timelines are met
- Qualification in furniture, product design or related field
- Currently hold the right to work in the UK
- Years of experience developing furniture for the luxury sector
- Proven experience of developing a piece furniture from concept to completion
- Highly creative thinker and able to demonstrate your process verbally and through sketch
- Able to confidently present ideas to internal and external parties
- Must have strong proficiency in AutoCAD. Additional 3D modelling and rendering software skills are a bonus. Experience with Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator would be an advantageous
