the details

A rare freelance opportunity to shape the design direction of a new multi-residential development in London.

about the position

This is a freelance role for an experienced Interior Designer to support a design-led studio working on a contemporary multi-residential development. You will contribute during Stage 2 for an estimated 8–12 weeks, helping shape the narrative, concept direction and interior identity of the scheme. The role will include creative development, concept storytelling and presentation support, with some layout workwhere required. The position would suit someone who enjoys crafting thoughtful concepts and can translate a client brief into a clear and compelling design narrative.

about the candidate

The successful candidate will have 7+ years’ experience and a track record of leading on large commercial projects, ideally within the multi-residential sector. You should be confident working at the front end of design, developing Stage 2 concepts with a strong narrative and clear storytelling that responds directly to the brief. A contemporary aesthetic and the ability to communicate ideas visually with clarity are essential. You will be comfortable working in Adobe CS, with the flexibility to support presentation layout as required, and confident navigating CAD software. A proactive, collaborative attitude and confidence contributing ideas within a studio environment are important.

about the studio

This is an established studio with a strong focus on context, materiality and purposeful design, offering the opportunity to add another standout project to your folio. The team operates full-time from the studio and promotes a healthy work–life balance.
