Bryan O'Sullivan Studio
Bryan O’Sullivan Studio is a full-service international interior design practice with head offices in central London and New York City, working with clients globally across residential, hospitality, restaurants, bars, maritime and more. The studio is known for creating contemporary, liveable interiors informed by an elegant and eclectic European point of view, with a focus on high-quality natural materials, refined lines, inviting curvilinear forms, bespoke furnishings and considered antiques.
In 2023, the studio launched The Collection, a curated range of furniture, lighting and objects that captures its signature aesthetic. The Collection brings together a mix of bespoke commissions and hero pieces originally designed for the studio’s interior projects, offering timeless yet distinctive designs defined by exceptional craftsmanship and understated glamour.
Initially conceived for his own home, the macaroon carver was born out of bryan's need to find a set of dining chairs that could be a perfect accompaniment to his harvest dining table. This soft, playful form is delineated by thick, oversized, lacquered American walnut legs and bold, rounded upholstery to create a striking silhouette. The bowed back legs, whose tapered design deliberately draws in only on the outside edges, leave the inside gap completely parallel.
Further study reveals the narrower spacing of these when compared to the front, a detail that reduces the perceived proportions of the chair helping create an elegant form from which to offset the arms of the carver, themselves appearing elevated as if in celebration.
These chairs offer a bold, irreverent approach to the usual formalities of a dining room; their curves and plump, namesake-shaped upholstery bring in bryan's whimsical style whilst respecting the traditional rules that make these an ideal dining companion.

Originally commissioned for a residential project in la, blade was designed to fit the cyberpunk aesthetics of ridley Scott's dystopian classic blade runner (1982), from where it assumes its name. The cantilevered design is composed of three main sections, each sporting a different colour and material finish. The warm red ochre-coloured leather desktop has been expertly worked around an oblong frame from a single hide by master craftsman bill amberg. The softly tapered edge ensures the large surface gracefully floats within the space in which it is held.
The mirror-polished aluminium drawers suspended beneath have been given a concave face that sinuously wraps around their curved forms, reflecting their environment and appearing as counterweights to the surface above them. The drawers are lined in white leather to compliment the powder-coated BASE, its own rectangular form cutaway, providing functionality from the negative space revealed. The supporting core rises from the BASE, changing from its powder-coated finish to polished aluminium halfway up, narrowing as it ascends towards the desk's leather top.
