Concept-led FF&E designer to deliver beautifully layered interiors from sourcing to installation

about the position

This growing design studio is expanding its FF&E division with the addition of a Middleweight Designer who has a strong eye for aesthetics, art, antiques, and material palettes. The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing rich and characterful interior concepts inspired by history, unique places, and layered storytelling. Working closely with the Head of FF&E and clients, the role involves helping to define and interpret project visions, creating and presenting FF&E schemes, mood boards, and materials. The designer will assist in preparing furniture layouts, sourcing and procuring bespoke FF&E and joinery, and managing relationships with suppliers and makers to ensure high-quality execution and timely delivery. This is a creative and hands-on position, offering involvement across all FF&E design and procurement stages.

about the candidate

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Interior Design or a related creative discipline, along with a minimum of 4 years’ experience, ideally gained within a similarly high-calibre studio working in the luxury residential sector. They will be confident developing concept-driven FF&E schemes with a strong eye for scale, colour, and detail, alongside a genuine interest in art, antiques, and materiality.

Strong visual communication and presentation skills are essential, as is proficiency in Adobe CS. A broad knowledge of suppliers and an understanding of budgets and trade pricing will be important. While the ability to produce joinery details in Vectorworks is a plus, the studio is open to training the right candidate who demonstrates exceptional conceptual ability and a distinctive creative eye.
