The Business Development Manager is a strategic and outward-facing role within a luxury interior design studio, focused on driving global business growth by acquiring new ultra-high-net-worth clients beyond the existing network. The position involves full responsibility for the client acquisition lifecycle, from initial outreach and relationship-building through to proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure. It requires the creation of a consistent pipeline of high-value leads aligned with the studio’s brand and design philosophy. The role also encompasses strategic market expansion, the cultivation of partnerships and referral networks, and close collaboration with internal teams to uphold the studio’s standards. International travel is expected, reflecting the global scope of the studio’s ambitions and clientele.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned business development professional with at least seven years of experience in luxury sectors such as interior design, real estate, or private client services. They will have a strong track record in generating and converting high-value leads, ideally within UHNW client ecosystems. This person is commercially minded, highly self-motivated, and confident navigating complex sales cycles. They are an exceptional communicator with a refined presence and a deep understanding of the nuances of servicing an elite clientele. A passion for craftsmanship and design, combined with strategic insight and analytical thinking, is essential. The ability to work collaboratively across internal departments while independently driving growth is key to success in this role.
