about the position

The Procurement Consultant will play a short-term but pivotal role in helping a leading interior design studio establish a fully operational procurement department. This freelance position is focused on designing the strategy, structure, and documentation needed to professionalise and streamline FF&E procurement processes. The consultant will define cross-functional workflows between design, project management, and finance teams, ensuring industry-standard budgeting, tendering, and approval systems are in place. The role also includes advising on risk mitigation, software tools, invoicing structures, and client interaction protocols.

The contract is 6–8 weeks and requires someone adept at delivering practical, scalable systems tailored to a design-led business.

about the candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional or consultant with a strong track record of setting up procurement functions within interior design, architecture, or FF&E-heavy environments. They bring deep knowledge of pricing structures, procurement software, tendering models, and supplier management, along with the ability to craft user-friendly templates and SOPs. This person is collaborative, solutions-oriented, and skilled at aligning creative and commercial teams. Experience working with luxury residential and hospitality clients is preferred, as is a calm and methodical approach to structuring new systems.
