the details

A rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the studio’s design presence in a new market while delivering outstanding client outcomes.

about the position

This Senior/Associate Interior Designer position offers the opportunity to lead a range of commercial interior projects while playing a central role in establishing a presence in the US market. Reporting directly to directors, in this role, you will take full ownership of projects from initial research through to concept development, design delivery, and post-completion snagging.

In this position, you will be responsible for generating experience-led concepts, producing presentation decks, detailing layouts and technical drawings, managing tender documentation, specifying FF&E and bespoke furniture, and overseeing delivery on site. Your role will involve coordinating design and architectural packages, reviewing construction drawings, and ensuring the integrity of design intent is maintained through each stage.

Key to this position is project leadership: in this role, you will plan workloads, manage timelines and budgets, communicate key milestones to stakeholders, and provide exceptional client service throughout. You will also be expected to mentor and support team members, contribute to improving processes and standards, and act as a trusted ambassador for the business.

about the candidate

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, client-facing designer with at least 7 years of professional experience working across commercial interiors in sectors such as hospitality, hotels, residential developments and workplace. You will bring a strong balance of conceptual creativity and technical expertise, combined with proven experience in delivering design-led, experience-driven projects from concept through to completion.

You must demonstrate exceptional knowledge of FF&E design and bespoke joinery, alongside a meticulous eye for scale, balance, detail and colour. In this role, you will need the confidence and ability to act as a key representative of the business, taking ownership of client relationships, presenting ideas confidently and leading discussions at every stage of the project.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe CS is required. You will also be an excellent communicator with proven leadership experience, capable of mentoring junior team members, coordinating consultants and contractors, and driving innovation through every aspect of the design process.

about the studio

The studio delivers standout interiors for visionary clients across a diverse range of international commercial sectors. With a hybrid working model and clear paths for career progression, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious designer looking to make an impact.

As a fast-growing, mid-sized studio of around 30 team members, this role offers the chance to step away from the constraints of a larger company and take on a position with greater creative influence and autonomy.

With plans to work with some of the world’s leading hotel brands and grow into a globally recognised lifestyle brand, the studio offers exceptional potential for both career development and financial progression.

Benefits include: private healthcare, enhanced maternity pay, and flexible working with 2 work-from-home days per week.

To be considered, please submit your CV & portfolio. Applicants must be based in New York and have a valid Right to Work (RTW) in the US, as those without will not be eligible.
