This is a role for an experienced architect to step in at associate level in both a managerial and hands on role and make their mark on a range of local public and community led projects. Reporting to director and alongside another associate, you will be responsible for effectively managing and inspiring teams on multiple projects concurrently, ranging in scale and scope from intricate library retrofits, primary schools and varied higher education projects for key clients. You will be the main client interface, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and end user groups to define briefs and interrogate design, as well as authorities, consultants and contractors to uphold design quality and advocate for meaningful, accessible and joyful spaces to successful handover. As this firm are small and dynamic you will get involved in fees, bids, resourcing and practice management as well as assisting in future opportunities for growth.
The successful candidate will be an established architect with significant experience in a design focused practice, leading teams on projects ideally in the public sector (e.g education, culture and/or community). Experience in a client and consultant facing role with strong multi-stakeholder engagement, as well as hands on design and production is essential, ideally in revit. The role requires someone thoughtful, curious and imaginative to bring unique ideas to life, coupled with expert delivery skills including contracts and supervising works on site. Above all this firm are looking for an eagerness to join an established but small and incredibly close knit team where you will be expected to jump across different tasks quickly and effectively.
