Design Manager
About the position
This is an exciting role to join the construction division of a design and build team to coordinate some of London’s most prime residential developments from pre-construction to handover. You will be responsible for ensuring the correct information from designers, engineers, consultants and sub-contractors is being obtained in accordance to programme and timeline, and is fully coordinated ready for construction. Overseeing technical information at RIBA stages 4+5 you will review and mark-up shop drawings, identifying inconsistencies and missing information, manage the RFI process and coordinate on site works to mitigate risk and delay, and uphold design intent and quality.
About the candidate
· Qualified Architect (ARB) with previous design management experience on super prime residential projects, at either at a main contractor or design practice
· Strong understanding of architectural and structural coordination, UK building codes, fire regulations, and listed building consent
· Site experience with the confidence to highlight and calmly resolve technical and construction problems before they arise
· The ability to manage multiple work streams and project programmes con-currently.
· Keen design eye with an acute attention to detail and the aesthetic judgment appropriate for luxury projects for HNW clients
· Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to pro-actively and professionally hold architects, engineers, and sub-contractors to account on programme and quality
