Senior Management Accountant role overseeing month-end close, group reporting, project accounting and financial controls within a fast-paced international architecture practice.
About the position
Senior Management Accountant responsible for owning the Group’s month-end close and producing accurate, timely management accounts across a complex, international, project-based business. The role is the technical backbone of the finance team, supporting group reporting, project accounting, audit, controls and process improvements while providing guidance to junior team members.
About the candidate
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), with strong part-qualified candidates considered.
- Proven management accounting experience with ownership of the full month-end close process.
- Strong experience in multi-entity consolidation, intercompany accounting and foreign currency accounting.
- Good project accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition, WIP and cost allocation.
- Experience within professional services, architecture, design, consultancy or another international project-based environment preferred.
- Confident using complex ERP and project accounting systems; Sage 200 and/or Deltek experience desirable.
- Highly organised, deadline-driven and comfortable holding others accountable.
- Strong communicator able to explain technical accounting clearly and coach junior colleagues.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Technically hands-on, calm under pressure and committed to accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Experience with external audit, international entities or finance systems/process improvement would be advantageous.
About the studio
Our client is a large, internationally active architecture and design practice operating across multiple entities and currencies. Its London-based finance team supports a fast-paced, complex, project-led business, with this role working closely with the Head of Financial Reporting & Controls, Project Accountants and wider Finance Operations team.
