Join an in-house design team on a freelance basis, bringing luxury furniture designs into production. Hybrid working and an immediate start available.
About the position
This freelance opportunity is to join an in-house design team on a six-month contract, developing furniture for luxury residential and hospitality environments. Working alongside the design lead, you will progress concepts into detailed SolidWorks models and technical packages for prototyping and manufacture. Hybrid working is available, with an immediate start preferred.
About the candidate
- At least four years of furniture design and development experience, ideally within the luxury sector
- Advanced SolidWorks skills, including surface modelling and detailed manufacturing drawings
- A portfolio demonstrating furniture detailing, material knowledge and experience taking designs through to prototype or production
- Strong understanding of furniture construction and manufacturing methods
- Proficiency in Rhino, KeyShot and Adobe Creative Suite, with confidence maintaining product information in Excel
- Able to manage several pieces simultaneously, work independently and communicate clearly with colleagues and suppliers
- Ideally available to start immediately

The in-house team works across furniture and interiors, combining creative design with a strong focus on materials, craftsmanship and technical execution.
Based in London, the team offers hybrid working for this freelance appointment, with the opportunity to contribute to ongoing furniture projects alongside designers and product development specialists.
