Showroom Sales Assistant
Showroom Sales Assistant creating a warm first impression for clients and supporting the daily running of a London showroom for a heritage luxury fabrics and wallcoverings house.
A welcoming, entry-level opportunity for a client-focused and highly organised individual to join the London showroom of a celebrated luxury fabrics and wallcoverings house. It is an ideal first step into luxury interiors, with hands-on exposure to beautiful collections and the designers who specify them.
As the first point of contact, you will welcome clients into the showroom, help them find relevant products and collections, and introduce them to the right Brand Ambassador. You will monitor incoming enquiries, direct them to the right colleague and process trade applications in Shopify, keeping customer details and regional allocations accurate.
You will work closely with the Showroom Manager and the wider sales team, helping Sales & Service Representatives find alternatives so that client orders can be fulfilled. Day to day, you will be dealing with interior designers, trade clients and colleagues across the showroom.
Behind the scenes, you will keep the sample library and showroom beautifully presented: preparing and returning fabric and wallpaper samples, receiving deliveries, unpacking new collections, checking stock against delivery notes and refreshing displays and signage. No two days are the same, and your attention to detail will shape how clients experience the brand.
We are looking for a warm, organised and proactive individual who enjoys looking after people and takes pride in getting the details right.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing, showroom, retail, hospitality or administrative role (preferred, not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication, with a friendly and professional manner
- Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach
- Confidence handling several tasks and priorities in a busy environment
- A proactive attitude, taking initiative and following things through
- Good IT skills and confidence with email and systems such as Shopify (training provided)
- A genuine interest in excellent client service and a positive customer experience
- A team-focused mindset and willingness to support colleagues and showroom operations
- The ability to stay calm and helpful when the showroom is busy
This role would suit someone keen to begin a career in luxury interiors.
A family-owned luxury interiors house with well over a century of design heritage, known for its fabrics and wallcoverings and for a portfolio of brands spanning floorcoverings, paint and design media.
Working closely with interior designers, trade clients and homeowners, the business pairs a deep respect for its archive with a curious, experimental approach to sustainable materials, new processes and immersive design technology.
Despite its long history, it is a progressive and entrepreneurial place to work, with a culture that values originality, close collaboration and a genuine love of beautiful design.
5. Benefits Include
- Basic salary of £28,000
- Company-wide commission plan being introduced for 2027 (OTE approximately £32,000–£35,000)
- Exposure to luxury interiors and high-end fabric and wallcovering collections
- A supportive Showroom Manager and wider team in a creative, design-led environment
- A varied role spanning client service, sampling, deliveries and showroom presentation
