Senior Residential Designer - Remote London Working
About the position
We are seeking an experienced and creatively driven Senior Residential Designer to join a growing design studio specialising in thoughtful, highly considered interiors. This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, working across all stages of the design process.
The role is primarily remote, offering flexibility while remaining closely connected with the wider design team. However, regular site visits will be required, sometimes at short notice, so the successful candidate must be based in-and-around London.
The successful candidate will lead design development, produce and coordinate detailed presentations, oversee material and FF&E selections, and collaborate closely with clients, consultants and suppliers to deliver exceptional spaces.
You will play a key role within the studio, contributing ideas, shaping design direction and helping to maintain the high standards of creativity, detail and craftsmanship that define the practice.
About the candidate
- Develop design concepts based on client needs, budget and functionality
- Create mood boards, material palettes and 3D visualizations
- Plan interior layouts considering circulation, ergonomics and compliance
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications and documentation using CAD/BIM software
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers and vendors
- Select materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting and fixtures
- Source samples and coordinate supplier visits as required
- Review contractor documents to ensure design compliance
- Ensure adherence to codes, regulations and safety standards
- Oversee site implementation and resolve design issues
- Conduct client meetings, site visits and manage project feedback
- Provide project updates through completion
