Furniture designer with strong creative flair to drive the front-end design and manage a team across an increasing number of exciting projects.

about the position

This design studio, widely celebrated for its exquisite attention to detail and bespoke interiors, is looking to hire a Midweight / Senior Furniture Designer. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of bespoke loose furniture and joinery across high-end residential and hospitality projects.

The role requires a strong 360 approach to design, thinking beyond how a piece looks to how it functions within a space and impacts the overall environment and user experience.

You will be involved throughout the full design process, from concept development and sketching through to technical detailing and delivery, with a focus on creating considered, well-resolved pieces.

This is a highly hands-on role that requires strong multitasking and the ability to balance multiple priorities, while maintaining clarity of thought and attention to detail.

You will work closely with internal teams and clients, ensuring clear communication and a collaborative, open approach to problem solving and design development.

about the candidate

The successful candidate will have an established portfolio showcasing experience in high-end or luxury furniture or product design.

  • Proven experience designing and delivering bespoke loose furniture pieces, including upholstery, tables, case goods, lighting or objects
  • Strong creative thinker with a considered, well-rounded approach to design, able to look beyond aesthetics and understand how pieces function within a space
  • Clear communicator, able to articulate ideas while also listening and responding to others, with a collaborative and open approach to design development
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Additional 3D modelling and rendering skills are essential
  • Strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good project management skills
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to take on feedback and adapt accordingly
